Well Done Hunter Land Sailing Club
Members !!!
Great Effort at this Year's Newcastle Caravan, Camping & Holiday SuperShow !!

The Hunter Valley Land Sailing Club(Hunter Hawks) wishes to specially thank those who attended
the 2010 Windfest Weekend Blokart Sailing Event, especially our visitors Russell W. from Vic, Danny H., Richard G.
& Don M. from Sydney who helped make the event an enjoyable weekend of competitive Blokart racing and freindly
socialising. Also, congratulations to the above visitors for taking home their fair share of the medals.
DAY 1.
With the track in great condition thanks to Paul, Brian, (and the team)... after Blokart
scruiteineering (thanks to Chucky & Brad),Practice started from 1pm. Our visitors were able to experience
strong westerly winds up to (25knots + +) on our purpose bulit track, with the more powerful gusts keeping saliors
on their toes, and feulling some fast action laps all afternoon, ... great fun was had by all !
Friday night - Huge Camp Fire(many thanks to Paul for organising) to warm us from the bitterly
cold westerly winds(and a few beers of course), complemented by sensational mouth watering wood-fired pizza
creations cooked in a special portable Pizza oven by Baz,(even the kids even got in on the act) - many thanks Baz
for feeding everyone a "trailer load" of wood fired Pizza ! - Very Yummo !
DAY 2.
Winds unfortunately had downgraded the next day, which saw pilots using their sailing skills, and
5m sails on a shortened course.
A total of x10 races were held, with one being dropped due to patchy wind.
Hunter Land Sailing's new " Tag Heuer " latest technology "mast-mounted" precise Transponder Timing System, didn't
miss a beat(or a Blokart), proving to be very stable & reliable, and easy to use... even for the novice
operator.
Score keeping updates provided by Jono L. who did a great job all weekend tallying & tracking the competitors
progress - thanks Jono.
Saturday Night Formal meal - A very generous Chinese Seafood Banquet at Hexham Bowling Club's Riverside
Restaurant.
DAY 3.
